The U.K. Supreme Judicial Court on Wednesday ruled that same-gender couples are entitled to a state-sanctioned marriage license in their home state of England.
The decision also allows gay couples to marry in other parts of the U.k.
The court, which was asked to make the ruling by the U,S.
state of Washington, also said it will hear another appeal on the case.
The justices said they had already decided the same-lock marriage law was unconstitutional in the U.,S.
and the Upholding state of New York.
The British government said the ruling does not affect the Ussher v.
Windsor case, which allows gay marriage in Canada.
A similar ruling by a lower court in Washington is pending.
